Comparison Degree

-          Membuat Perbandingan dengan As…As
As…As is used to say that the two parts of comparison are equal or the some in some way.
Examples:
a.       Eowyn is 21 years old. Sam is also 21
Eowyn is as old as Sam (is)
b.      Nick came as quickly as he could
In (a)= as + adjective + as
In (b)= as + adverb + as

-          Negative form : not as…as
Quite and nearly are often used with the negative
Examples :
c.       Arkin is 20. Eowyn is 21
Arkin is not as old as Eowyn
d.      Arkin isn’t quite as old as Eowyn
e.      Arwen is 5. She isn’t nearly as old as Eowyn
In (d)= not quite as…as                 => a small different
in (e)= not early as…as                  => a big different

(*) also possible=> not so…as  : Arkin is not so old as Eowyn
